Assignment #1 - Astra International, Tbk

Astra International established on 1957, and now, we can find that Astra International is the biggest conglomerates in Indonesia. The businesses are automotive, financial service, heavy equipment, mining and energy, agribusiness, information technology, infrastructure, and logistic value chain.

The company had become a public company since 1990, and also listed in Indonesian stock exchange, both in Jakarta and Surabaya. The market capitalization achieve Rp 140 trillion in 31 December 2009.

With Prijono Soegiarto as the CEO, now Astra International can earn Rp 98,520 billion in 2010 as the revenue and Rp 10,040 billion in 2010 as its net income. But now, Astra International majority owned by Jardine Cycle & Carriage of Singapore.

The calculation of Ri and Rm is useful for the traders to know whether the stock price increase or decrease so they can determine whether they buy or sell the stock. When the value of daily stock returns and daily market return is negative, it means that the value of stock decrease.
Astra International the beta is calculated as 0.46178252 in LQ45 while for the IHSG is calculated as 0.38774023. Higher beta means higher risk for the company. So, we assume that Astra International is a right place for the investor to invest their money because the beta is low. It is a right place for those who don’t like enjoy risk or want to play it safe.

why we choose tax as our group name ?

TAX probably the most popular word in this moment. it always comes up in newspaper and television everyday. they always relate it to someone that (we think) He also the most popular person in Indonesia, of course in negative term.
people create their own negative perspective to TAX. when they hear the word TAX the underestimate it.

actually, TAX is everywhere. when we buy something in restaurant, conscious or unconscious we pay 10% of tax even more. when we go to mall and buy something, we also pay tax. tax surrounds us everyday!

how amazing this simple word "TAX" has a very huge meaning to the world.
that's why we think that TAX is rock!!
